Home

Home BY: Naomi, Coldbrook, N.S. The dictionary defines home as “ A house or a kind of shelter where people live.” and, yeah that's what some people think of when they refer to home. But it can be much more than that. To me, home is… being with my sister, mom, dad and my dog. To me, home is… sleeping in a comfortable bed and having fresh, clean water to drink.. To me, home is… my stuffed animals, my couch. Home is… a place that I can feel safe, 24/7. Home is a place where I can share my feelings. Home is my own little getaway from all the scary things that can be happening. Home is a place where… I can be myself, let my imagination run free. At home, it doesn’t matter if I have an awful bed-head, or if I stay in my pajamas all day. Home is my place to just… relax. Home isn’t like any other place, whether it’s my Grandparent’s, Friend’s or Cousin’s house, it will never be my home. Home is my family; that's what home really is, to me. Home is where I’m happy, where I’m free, where most smiles will appear on my face. Home is where I grew up… and am still growing up! It really is… home sweet home.
