The Feeling of Home

Home is the place where I can sit down and feel safe. It’s a place where I can say the truth with no judgment. It’s a place I feel safe going to for comfort and sanctuary. It's the place where I can be myself. The place I can pursue my dreams. It is a place where I can feel the joy and presence of my family. Home is the people who care for me, my friends and family. They are the people I can trust and feel safe talking to. They are the people who make home. The people I can talk to about anything. Home is the community I live in. It’s the place where I can ask people for help and they will help. It’s a place where I can go for security and safety. Castlegar is the place where I feel at home. Home is the province I live in. British Columbia is the place I know I will always have a home in. The place I can enjoy life, the place I can feel safe, the place of love and hope. It’s the place I can look up at the sky and say this is my home. Home is the country where we can all stand together and find home. Canada is the place I know and love. Canada is the place I can be whatever I set my mind to. I am proud to live in Canada. Wherever I am, home is with the people I love and cherish. Thank you to Habitat for Humanity for giving everyone the home they deserve. I also want to thank you for giving people the chance to have a loving community like mine.
