A New Home

A house is just a building A house is just a structure There are so many houses large and miniature One's coated with many colors A house has rooms with walls A home is a whole different story I moved Nigeria to Canada leaving the other half of my family My cousin's aunts and uncles My old house wasn’t as lovely as the house I live in now I left my past to begin a better future I just moved to Fredericton. My new house is beginning to feel like home Anytime I get off the school bus I always take a moment to gaze at my neighborhood With all the colorful decorations When I walk into my home My mom always welcomes me with a warm and comforting grin I head into the spotless kitchen Where me and my mom cook together Try new and exciting and terrific new recipes Tell stories and have conversations I love to watch movies in the warm and cozy living room Where a scent of perfume goes up your nose I adore that room Because that’s where most of my family are After a long and devastating day Its where we spend time together My home is sometimes like an amusement park mixed with a concert Each morning is loud and chaotic When the sun sets it's calm and peaceful like a still river We often play board games Music is always playing in my home My family would always listen to the beautiful melodies I would play on my keyboard There are some challenges There are some fights that we go through No matter how many challenges knock us down We will always get up Home is just the beginning of new memories Home is my shield and safety Home is where there is everlasting love.
