Home is...
Home is my happy friend Sophie and her cute smile and adorable laugh,
My cold karate dojo where I learn to defend myself and to respect others,
Where I am safe to do whatever I want,
Where I can sleep peacefully and not be disturbed in my cozy private space,
Where I make happy exciting memories and sad ones too.
Home is nature…
The fluffy peaches off of the beautiful trees ,
yellow bananas and the bushes with dark juicy blackberries,
The bright red apples, tasty green kiwis, yummy oranges, and the mangos that Sophie could eat all day,
The monkeys swinging in the rainforests and colorful birds flying around,
The beautiful view,
And the cold waters from waterfalls that trickle down my hands,
The hot sun that tans my skin,
The bright white cold snow that I make snowballs with my friends.
Home is…
My bathroom sized walk in closet with shorts for the hot sunny days,
And slacks for the cold winter days,
The cold hardwood floors that I walk on barefoot,
In slippers,
And run upstairs in my big boots when I forget something before I go to the mall,
Where I get a amazon packages,
Sometimes they are right and sometimes they are wrong but I love them like home.
Home is…
Where I run downstairs to ask if me and my friends can have a sleepover,
Where I use my cold calming facemasks,
And lose my phone,
Where text my friends,
Where I laugh,
Where I cry,
Where me and my friends sit on my bed with food and watch movies,
Where my dad beeps his car to pick me up,
Where my cat snuggles with me when I am sad,
When I am happy,
And when I am bored.
Home is…
The long 6 hours and 20 minutes of school,
Where I read,
Where I write,
Where I learn to add,
To subtract,
To multiply,
And to divide,
Where I learn French,
Sweat,
Fall,
And laugh,
Where I get to play volleyball,
Fail,
And Win,
And have to play soccer,
Basket ball,
And too much dodge ball,
Wet coats,
Mud stained clothing,
Chugging water,
Eating food.
Home is life.
