What home means to me
What home means to me is different from the others.
It's not just a building with windows and many colors.
Home is a place where you spend time with your family.
I can sleep peacefully even though I know life is challenging.
Home is a place where there is a lot of laughter.
And you don't need to worry about what is coming after.
Houses can come in many different shapes and forms,
but home is the place where all the memories are stored.
Boom!Boom! Hearing in the night sounds like a fight.
Makes me feel like I could have lost the 11 years of my life.
Hearing those noises really scared me.
My home no longer feels like a place of safety.
Some neighbors can be very heartless.
During that time I was in the darkness.
People come and go, and my safety finally comes back home.
I'm writing this poem to bring joy to many families, with the help of Habitat for Humanity.
