The meaning of home

The meaning of home can be different for many people, for some people home is not a good place, it can be loud, or scary but for other people it can be good like happiness, joy, safety and more. Home to me means baking\food, family, and safety. Right now there is a lot of construction down in the basement of my house so it is a bit loud. I like going for bike rides or playing basketball with my brother or friends. Safety is a big part of home for me, it is a place where I can go that I do not feel afraid or scared and I can just be there with my family. I am used to being in my house so I know where everything is but like in someone else's house I do not know where to find things. Some homes can not feel safe, like you want to escape or go somewhere else. If you can not feel safe in your own home then I do not feel like you should stay there. My parents are separated so normally on the weekends we go with my dad if he is not working in Inuvik. But mainly we live with our mom, she is a nurse. I have a twin named Lola, she is a bit strange, she is also the total opposite of me. I have a brother named Finn, he is 13 years old and he turns 14 in may. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 3 years ago. It is always nice to have a family where you live waiting for you to come home. My family has a lot of food traditions every year that we make. Like the night before Christmas my mom makes bread like dough and bakes it in the oven in a circle formation and a big whole in the middle so it looks like a big donut. Then when it is done we spread homemade icing on it and put pomegranate seeds on the top. Then Christmas morning comes and we have a Christmas dessert to eat, we call it a Christmas wreath. Then my grandpa makes the turkey for christmas dinner. It is always nice to have a great family to cook for you. Therefore I think that safety, family and food are some of the most important things about home. Different people can have different opinions about home but that is mine. Thank you for listening. I
