Story of Home
I looked back at my house one last time. In the distance there was a city behind it. I went to the city. I spent days there shuffling around and finding stuff to eat. I slept in an alley filled with abandoned pets. Two days later I left the alley and spotted a house. There was a kid in there. She looked so happy she had food and a chair. The chair looked so soft and she was watching a screen. She turns around and spots me as I duck. A minute later she comes outside. “Hello.” She said “What are you doing here?” Her hair shines in the sun. She looked at me suddenly, noticing how skinny I was. “Do you want something to eat?” She asks. I nod my head. The food tastes so good. “What is it?” I ask. The girl looks at me. “Oh!” She says. “You can talk. The food is called soup.” “Wow!” I say. “By the way,” She says. “My name is Becky.” “I’m Zoey.” I say back. I get startled by the rumbling noise. “Oh mom is back.” She says starting to walk towards the sound. “What's mom?” I ask. “You don’t know?” says Becky. “It’s a person that loves you no matter what.” Becky’s mom walks through the door. “Becky, who is this?” “Mom, this is Zoey.” Says Becky. “She needs a place to stay.” Becky’s mom looks at me and sighs. “This is the place.” Becky jumps up and down. “You know what that means?” She says. I shake my head. “You can stay!” Becky starts walking back to the food place. “This is your home now.” She says. “It’s not a place, it's a feeling, it's love itself filled with your family that loves you forever.”
