What Home Means To Me
My home isn’t perfect, but it’s perfect enough.
Together with my family, I never feel alone.
That’s what home means to me!
When I think of home, I think of a dream coming true.
With my family and friends, I’m never blue.
My home means the most to me.
It’s where I cherish it all, I guarantee.
When Covid hit I was sad and lonely,
but my family was there to comfort and hold me.
If the walls of my home could talk, they would go on and on about the love, compassion and joy my family has been through.
Like all the fun adventures!
As well as moving from house to house, leaving all the memories and moments.
I will miss my old home,
but I won't forget the smells that roam.
Like the hot chocolate chip cookies, freshly made pasta, Halloween goodies and red, fishy lobster.
The past is the past, but those memories won’t go,
like the one when my mom and I ate all the cookie dough!
In my home, I learned how to walk, talk, eat, sleep,
run around and dive deep!
There are so many different kinds of homes.
From the bird’s nest high in the trees
to the dog's house surrounded by fleas.
So, no matter if you’re young or old, big or small,
warm or cold, short or tall,
we all need a loving place
to open and embrace.
Let’s build up one another as we build a community. Spread kindness and unity!
We can all do our part and raise money for those in need. Habitat for Humanity is a way we can lead.
When the sun starts to set and the clouds fade away, everyone should have a warm place to stay!
That's what home means to me!
