Home is Whereever You Go
What does home mean to me?
I don’t know because wherever go
we leave. Is home where you sleep?
Is home where you eat?
Is home where you watch tv?
But after time go, I have learned that
home is wherever you go.
Wherever you feel, wherever you want
wherever your loved one will go.
What does home mean to me?
What does home mean to me?
What does home mean to me?
Well home is a place with memories,
where friends helped you move in, supported
you, and welcomed you in.
A home doesn't have to look perfect,
a home doesn't have to be big,
a home doesn't have to be painted
with golds and gems
A home can be flat, a home can be tall
a home can be small,
but the most important thing
is that your home has a big heart.
Homes can be messy, especially when you have kids
around, but thinking about them they are also
memories that will never be forgotten as time goes by.
When you broke a window and
then fixed it together,
when you painted walls with
crayons then together washed
it, when you tried to bake a cake but just made a mess
all around, and together cleaned up and then ate
cake and laughed after time,
but they also left a little mark both in real also as
memories.
Then, when you are grown up and stand tall, you can
think back laugh and cry with your
loved ones and all, think how many
mistakes you made and how much you learned.
Now I know what a home means to me and you know too.
It’s a place with love and support, kindness and grace and where memories are made,
and a home doesn’t have to be a specific place
because a home Is where you go, and will go around the world to find where you truly love and want to go, the most important thing is that it is where you are loved and love so it feels like the place you truly want to go.
Everyone deserves a home to be welcomed, feel safe, where they can make memories, and feel like they truly belong in that place. Thanks to Habitat For Humanity that is now possible, now everyone can make mistakes and learn in their home, learn like I did that home can be wherever you go.
