What does Home Mean to You?

A house is a building. It has walls, a floor, and a roof just like a tree house. You can build a house the way you want. It could be a circle but still not your home, it can be oval but it is not your home. A home is where you can be comfortable. You can live like a slob, but no one can judge, only yourself and the people who live with you. A family who lives in a house can make it their home. They can choose the way they want the color or furniture to make a home feel comfortable. I like to choose furniture and colors that are inviting to others. A home is cozy and may have a couch and a fireplace where you can warm up in the winter. I love my home because it is where I can be anything I want to be. I can use my imagination. I can be a monkey. I can dance like a monkey, but no one can judge me because I am who I want to be in my home. You make memories in a home. A home has love but a house is just materials. A house is full of air and possibly nothing else. Inside a house it may just be empty and it has no soul but a home has happiness. If you know the saying home sweet home that is what everyone’s house should be. I hope Habitat for Humanity helps people not only build a house but give families the chance to live in a happy home and give children the chance to have a good home. So they can call their own home HOME SWEET HOME!
