Together we can Make a Change

To a lot of people, home is the place where you live but to me home is where you can be you. A place where you don’t have to worry about what others think about you, a place you feel safe and welcome. Home isn't just a four-letter word to mean a building you live in. It's where your family is, where you feel most comfortable, safe, relaxed, and secure. No matter how big, small, expensive, or moderate your house is, it is still your home. There is still someone hoping, dreaming, laughing, and playing there. For a lot of fortunate people their daily morning routine includes waking up in their own bed, inside their own bedroom and then transferring to another room to eat breakfast. The less fortunate wake up in their car or in a tent and the most unfortunate of all are completely homeless living on the streets with concrete for their bed. Some go without breakfast in the morning so that they can have a meal in the afternoon when they should be able to have both. It is unfair that some people have these privileges and others do not. I am incredibly grateful that I have a home and a place to stay. Everybody deserves a home, that is why I'm writing this today, so that someone can feel the comfort and safety of a home. -Keira B
