Meaning of Home

Nothing can compare to the comfort of our own home. It's a place where we learn our first lessons in life and make unforgettable memories. It's where we look forward to living our everyday lives. Our homes provide us with protection. However, we don't realize the importance of this remarkable place. We need to remind ourselves of the difference between what we call a house and a home, since home is more than a place, it's a feeling. As the saying goes, “A house is made of bricks and mortar, but a home is made by those who live there”. If your home was owned by another person or group of people, it wouldn't feel the same. It's about how YOU treat it, use it, and live in it. The feeling of home is where you are sheltered and comfortable within your surroundings. For some, a house is tiny and cramped, for others a house could be large and spacious. Home cannot always keep up with our expectations, our homes will never be perfect. Home is different for everyone but no matter where you live, home is home. It was meant for you. But, homes can change. Moving can have a big impact in many of our lives. Most of us have to switch homes eventually, and it can be tough for not only us, but for our families as well. Though, having patience can lead us to realizing it’s for the best, that you must have moved for a good reason. We should be extremely grateful because unfortunately many others cannot afford what we have. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for helping countless people around the world. Home would never seem so important if you hadn't created this contest for us to learn about this blessing we call home.
