To Home, With Love
Home is a simple word with a very
strong meaning.
It is a place where I feel welcome and safe,
and feel sad whenever I’m leaving.
A place to belong, a place to feel strong,
and that is just the beginning.
You’ll see one day when from home far you stray,
when you're back it feels like you're winning.
Exciting and new, but that’s up to you,
a home doesn’t have to be like others.
A home is a place full of memories and grace,
With your family, sisters and brothers.
Dogs, cats or fish, whatever you wish.
Part of the joy and the fun.
The best thing of all, be it big,
be it small, is that no matter what,
you’ll always feel like number one.
Tears of joy, tears of pain, but despite
all of that, your home will remain a haven, and that’s
a fact.
A place to feel happy, a place to feel scared,
a place to yell and scream, though that might be undeclared.
Parents that love you, though sometimes seem not,
the truth is they care about your every thought.
A home doesn’t have to be walls and a roof
It can be thoughts in your mind, and I have lots of proof.
Have you ever thought about what it would feel like to be alone?
Cold on the street, with no house, nor a home.
I am grateful for all that Habitat for Humanity does,
providing homes for the houseless just because.
The people there have hearts of gold
for sheltering our country from the cold.
Thank you for providing all of this love,
With it we will rise above.
