What Home is Like and Means
Everybody wants a home
Everyone deserves a home
A home doesn’t need to be a place
A home can be your safe space.
My home isn’t made of four walls
My home is where my troubles feel small
My friends and my family
I can call my home easily.
Rather than the support of a wall
With them to lean on my spirit won’t fall
Rather than my bed to sleep upon
They give a comfy shoulder to lean on.
With them, I always feel good
Just Like a home should
Bad weather couldn’t knock my home down
We’ll live laugh love with troubles around.
I can speak the truth and share my feelings
I can feel sheltered without any ceilings
I can feel balanced and stand up straight
Without a wooden floor to carry my weight.
Although there’s no door to close or re-open
If my home had one it would always be open
There are long days with lots to do and learn
But I know to this home I can always return.
