A Safe Place
My home is a place with my family,
A roof over my head,
A warm place to stay and to play.
A place to grow,
A safe place to call home.
A place to make friends
On which I depend.
A place I can stay and a place to sleep
Where I count 300 sheep.
A place to make memories that I can keep.
I am thankful for my warm blanket when it’s cold outside.
I cry and feel sad when I see people on the street.
Who takes care of them?
Where do they belong?
Their lives seem incomplete.
Where is their retreat?
A home to me is something special that everybody needs.
Without it, it’s like missing a very special heart beat.
It’s our humanity.
