My Poem of Home
Since the day that COVID came,
I can’t go to my baseball game.
The government said going nowhere is the right way,
And that home is the best place to stay.
My home has had to morph, transform and change
To do things I can’t do while keeping COVID out of range.
I work out in the basement and hit wiffle balls
And talk to my fellow teammates on Zoom calls.
Staying home actually isn’t that bad
Because I spend more time with my brother, Mom and Dad.
Although my school is just down the street,
I have been doing my learning on Google Meet.
As the virus has raged on in winter, fall and spring,
My home has been a place for everything.
