What Home Means To Me
A heart has many pieces,
My home is one of mine.
The place of light and warmth,
Where love truly resides.
Where I can paint my own future,
And dream of it every night.
Where I can laugh at my past,
(Was I truly that height?)
It's where my family is,
Where our bonds are steady and true.
Where we look out for one another,
And listen to each other too.
It's where we carry our burdens together,
Where we mend the broken hearts.
Where we learn from our mistakes,
And we never are apart.
Home is where we pray for one another,
Every single night.
Where we look up to our King,
And hold onto our faith tight.
Where I beam at my father's proud smiles,
Where I fall into my mother’s warm embrace.
Where me and my sister fight over the passenger’s seat,
(I still love her all the same.)
It’s the foundation of ideas,
Where I can let ambition grow.
It’s where I can be myself,
And I can let my dreams flow.
Home is where it’s okay to feel sad,
Where I can let my tears fall.
But it’s why I have my family,
As we care for one and all.
A home is never empty,
Though to the eye it might seem to be.
But the memories that fill the home,
Are bigger than the biggest sea.
See, the love inside our homes,
Cannot be seen by me or you.
It resonates deep within our hearts,
Strong, everlasting and true.
