What Home Means to Me

We all have different interpretations of home. It could be smelling your mothers cooking, or hearing waves at a beach. For me, home means comfort, love, and knowing I am safe. It is where my family is, and where my dog fills the space with joy. Home is not just a shelter, but the memories and people inside it. It is where I can be myself knowing that I won't be judged. Something that even my closest friends don't know is that I love nature. Home is definitely where I feel closest to it. I do flare up a lot in nature which is not very home-like. I think being in nature is one of the most calming things ever. If you know me then you know I love to socialize. I love to be around friends and hangout with them. To me, friends are my #1 stress reliever. I especially love to be around my best friends. I am grateful for all of my friends, but for me there will always be friends who I'm closest to. Being around my best friends is undeniably home. I think this is something mostly my family knows, but home to me is also music. At home I always have my headphones on. Music helps me focus, and when I listen, I feel like I'm in my own world. I mainly listen to Drake, Billie Eilish, and Chappell Roan. To summarize, home is wherever I feel safe, comfortable and truly happy.
