What home means to me...

First, home to me is a place of refuge, but to some people, they don‘t like it because of child abuse, but at my home, that doesn’t happen to me. It is the place I come to after 3:20, the end of the day at school. I sleep there, I watch TV there, I play there, I eat there, but to put these sentences into one sentence, I come home to relax. Second, home is multiple feelings of happiness, love, kindness, comfort, care, encouragement, helping and more. My home smells like my mom's nostalgic cooking. In the summertime, it smells of grass. I only have one home, and I am comfortable there. If I left, I would feel homesick. Third, I like home because of the memories I make there. E.g., the times me and my brothers and my sister play laser tag and play soccer or the time me and my family were around the campfire roasting marshmallows and sausages. When you are old, you will like telling stories of what happened at home. Finally, home is a place of excitement. If you move out of your home, you will have to adjust, and it will take time for it to feel like home again. I have fun at my home. I play all sorts of fun things at my house like games, soccer, board games and laser tag. But to me, holidays are the times when memories are made, from baking cookies with family at Christmas time to having hope for a certain present at Christmas time. We have to remember that some people do not have homes, and we should be glad that we have a shelter where we can make memories and have fun. My home feels warm and welcoming. Most people think home is just another word for a house but home has another meaning. It's a place where you are loved and cared for, a place you will remember from the start of your life to the end of your life. Sometimes, home may be crazy and sometimes peaceful. My home has people who love me, e.g., my siblings and parents, which means I am loved at my home. I draw and do chores at my home. My home is my childhood. I will live there, eat there and do most things there. But my answer is that home is a place where I am cared for and loved. A place I can come to and talk about my day. MY POEM: Home is made up of memories you’ll remember. Home is the people you love as strong as ember. A place you can only share with people who really care. Some people may think it’s just a bunch of steel, but it’s the people who care about how you feel. It’s a place you can have fun, a place you can run, a place you can joke with your folk.
