My Home

The meaning of home is to me is baking or cooking with Enola, my sister. We love baking banana bread and cookies. The meaning of home can be my friends and family because they love me and care about me. They help me when it comes to hard times and when I'm sad, they do not make me feel bad. My home is more than a location; it is the warm, sweet scent of banana bread and cookies baking in the oven while Enola and I laugh in the kitchen. It is the vibrant sparkle of Nigeria that lives in my heart, connecting me to my roots and my identity. Most importantly, home is found in the people who love me, the friends and family who hold me up during hard times and give me a safe space to be myself. Home is where I am never judged, always cared for, and especially when we break our fast together, always loved. During this month, home is the peace I feel when we sit down as one, our hearts are as full as our table, knowing I am exactly where I belong. I love my family and I'm forever grateful.
