Meaning of home

A home is where memories are made and where families make connections. Home to me is me is all of those things and so much more . Like when you walk through the door way and all of your family is waiting for dinner. Your mom is making your favorite dish , salad, and steak yum! You’re little cousin comes running to your feet chanting your name with the biggest smile on their face. I love my home it makes me feel like I have a different identity, like I don’t have to put on an act, no need to pretend that I’m perfect. I can just be me and relax. No one is going to judge me and no one is going to care. When I close my eyes and take a deep breath and just listen, I can hear laughter filling the house, I can smell the popcorn being made for movie night, and I can feel the cozyness and warmth of my house closing in on me. We all gather around on the couch and my dad grabs the remote, me and my sister are fighting on which movie to watch, but then my mom grabs the remote from my dad and put on a classic. It wasn’t good that’s for sure but my mom making funny jokes and us all laughing makes a movie night special. Then the popcorn is ready, I put my hand in to grab a piece. I felt the warm greasy butter go all over my fingers as usual. Just those little details make a house a home even if you don’t realize it home is all around you.
