The meaning of home
Home isn’t just a house, home is where you belong, home is your safe place.
In my home I see my 2 brothers running around and acting all silly well playing basketball. I smell my mom and grandma cooking the best curry, rice, and roti. I feel the feeling of being safe and knowing this is where I belong and the feeling of putting the keys in my house to enter my home. I touch my bed knowing that’s where I get to sleep and rest. I sit down at the dinner table knowing that’s where I get to eat the food my mom and grandma have prepared for my family and I.
At the end of our day my family and I all rest in our living room and play family games, have pillow fights, or share how are day was.
On a nice, relaxing, calm, and simple morning I get to wake up to my mom cooking the sweetest chocolate chip cookies, or a nice and simple banana bread. After a long day I have the gift to be able to talk to my family and have fun! My home is my safe place, my home is where I want to be, my home is me!
My home is very important to me, it’s where my family and I rest, we have the gift to come home after a long day.
When I come home from school I run up the stairs to say hi to my mom, grandma, grandpa, and dad.
Everyone should know the feeling of putting the keys through the door, finally stepping through the door to enter my home.
After school I come home, have a quick little snack, then typically get dressed for soccer practice.
I even have the gift of living with my grandma, grandpa, and even my great grandma. My grandparents help out my mom and dad well there at work. My grandpa drops off my brothers and I to school. My grandma cooks yummy potato filled roti’s, and my great grandma keeps them all company so they don’t ever feel alone.
When my aunts and uncles come to visit every little while, I get to dress up and look my best. We all eat dinner together, play games, watch a movie, or sit and talk, and have fun!
