What “home” means to me
Home is a place where you can express things you don't feel is important at any other place with family members. It’s where your identity begins. It’s as if there was a side of bright colors at home and grey skies any other place except when someone or something from that home is there with you to remind you that “home” is a place like any other when you’re welcomed the right way. In fact, “home” doesn't have to be your actual home. It can also be a place you feel at home – in your comfort zone. For example, if you like basketball, the court where you play might be a place you call “home”. “Home” is almost like another word for “comfort zone” which is a place where you feel loved and welcomed like it's the right place you belong. Some might call home their school, the gym, a school club and maybe (like me) their “home” is in that cozy corner in your classroom next to a bookshelf with warm lamps and plushies all around the small but fuzzy mat – AKA- the reading corner! I know many people who refer to home as that corner in every class because – and I quote – “it makes me feel welcomed and comfy”. Another “home” I or you might have is The Forest of Reading Club. Ever since grade 2 I loved reading, but before I HATED reading, yes, I know hate is a strong word but it's true. But after joining that club I loved reading for as long as I can remember! I’d encourage non-readers to find their next “home” by joining that club maybe. Hopefully you now know what “home” really means. Thank you for reading! Bye.
