The Comfort of Home

Home is not just a place with walls, a roof, or doors, It’s where there’s love and kindness and so much more, Whenever I get home, I get a big hug, But sometimes my siblings are a bit of a bug. From the kitchen there is a delicious smell, I know supper will be ready when mama rings the bell, After supper, mama sweeps the floor with a broom, While I watch the Jets game from the other room. After work, at school all day, I love to just go home to play, I go downstairs and play with my brother, It’s so fun, he’s like no other! At night, I get cozy in my bed, And fall fast asleep while I rest my head, My parents put me to bed every night, They know how to do it just right.
