What Home Means to Me
What Home Means To Me
A home is not just a place to sleep. It's where I feel safe and loved. Every evening at my house I smell the delicious food in the kitchen, and that smell is a sign to sit down and spend time with my loving family.
It's not just the house that makes it feel like home, it's the people in that house that makes it special. My Dad brings me to my sports like soccer, football or baseball. My Mom helps me with my homework like division ,multiplication or fractions. My brother helps me with common things like how to spell words.
Home is not just a structure on a street. Home is when I watch movies and play card games. Home is when I laugh and call people nicknames. When we play card games or just run around and play outside. Those games may be small but they are still good moments to remember for the future. In my house the pictures may be small but they show me memories that last for long.
I am glad that my school is supporting habitat for humanity. Everyone deserves a place of their own to live and stay, where they feel loved and cared for. Home is not just how big it is or how beautiful it is how you feel.
This poem is from Lironn Dasakumar to represent all the people who don't have homes to feel safe and cared for.
