Home- Happiness Over Melancholy and Emptiness
Once upon a time, in Beaumont, Edmonton, there lived a family of four. One day, they set off on a trip to Saint Lucia.
During the first day of the family’s vacation, Emptiness came wandering in their vacant house. She had been discovered in her old house and had been kicked out. So she decided to take refuge in this empty house. She helped herself to the food in the pantry, and had a good first day.
The second day, when Emptiness woke up, she found someone staring at her. He introduced himself as Melancholy. He said that he used to live at the local pound, but the dogs found him out, and almost killed him. He had passed this house on the way to find shelter, and wanted to share it with Emptiness. Emptiness agreed. She loved the company! They got on quite well, and were already looking forward to the next day.
Strangely enough, when Melancholy was making his way to the porch the next morning, he saw someone, with “Loser” written on his face. He introduced himself as Happiness. Happiness had lived with teenagers for a while, but when they found him, they pestered him, and scribbled on his forehead. Emptiness and Melancholy welcomed him home.
A few days later, when the family returned from their vacation, Melancholy and Emptiness were terrified that they might lose their home again, but Happiness convinced them that all will be well.
Over time, the family slowly discovered all three feelings and accepted them too. But, just as in a happy home, there was more of Happiness over Melancholy and Emptiness in the house. “This is life,” they thought. “And this is HOME!”
