What Home Means
Home, some say it’s where the heart is, others say your heart is your home. Some say family, some say your mind, but to me it means all that and so much more. To me home means: loving yourself, loving your family. It means understanding when you're wrong, it means knowing when your heart is in the wrong place. Home is the place that teaches you all these things, home is the place that you go when you had a bad day and when you had a good one. Home can be a place, a person, a thing, home can be love if not anything else, home can just be coming back to your bed at the end of the day. Home doesn't have to be a house, though it can be. home keeps you safe. If your home is not safe, that's not a home. A home should keep you safe, warm and happy. Home, if not anything else, should make you feel loved. To me home means coming back to my parents and siblings (even my sister) at the end of the day and knowing I can relax. Home could be where the heart is but to me home is wherever my family goes, home is wherever my heart strives to be and home is wherever i can be really and truthfully me. Whether that be my house or my car, my cousins or my room, my home is where I feel the safest. -For my family, thank you for being my home.
