Home is Not Just a Building

Home is not just an address I can point to on a map. It's the place where I feel safe and understood. I can do anything I want at home. When I come from school and smell the tasty food that my mom cooked, when we hear the news on the tv and when we touch the clean bed sheet. Home can be a voice that knows my name the way it sounded when I was young,or a table where laughter arrives before the food. And if I've learned anything, it's that this home is not something we can find but something we carry and choose every day .Sometimes it disappears for a while and I have to build it again slowly and carefully from trust and resilience. In the summer me and my sister play together in our back yard. When we are done playing we go inside and eat ice cream in our home. For me home is a memory. I celebrate Ramadan and Eid with my family . Ramadan is the holiest month in Islam . It's not just a no food month ,It's a period focused on spiritual growth , self discipline and compassion. Ramadan stands for Empathy for the poor and hungry, Forgiveness, charity and kindness, purification, self control and strengthening faith. Muslims try to pray more, read the quran , avoid gossip or anger during this month . we fast because it reminds us to be grateful for what we have after a month of fasting during ramadan ,eid al-fitr is a way of saying thank you for the strength the lessons and the patience .eid starts with a special prayer in the morning people wear clean or new clothes families and friends visit each other children receive gifts or money .
