What Home Is To Me

I sometimes wonder “ What is home? ” To me, home is not just a building or a place, home is like a feeling to embrace. Every time I walk in I feel like I’m in a gigantic warm hug, it’s a comfy dome. Even if I am only ten years old My home makes me feel strong and bold. Being in my home I never feel a single disgrace When I walk in my brother wants to play But I’ve got homework to do all day, Alongside my dad at the table doing equation after equation. Afterwards sitting by the warm, cozy fire and telling hilarious about an alien invasion Then we eat delicious snacks, bake yummy treats, play games then go to sleep. In the morning when we wake, we eat delicious, syrupy pancakes that we all baked On the way to school me and my brother jump in the pile of leaves we just raked I jump and leap, Into the big, giant heap. I remember the time we saved an adorable tiny baby mouse Its memories like these that make my home feel like a home and not just a house These are the thingsI treasure in my heart forever, No matter whenever, with whoever or whatever I remember the delicious aromas coming from the kitchen when I bake creamy pumpkin pies. Even if a home may seem small in size, I now know that home isn't just a building, it's where your heart is
