Home is where

Home is where I feel welcoming, harmonized, safe and loving. Home is like a shield to protect me so I can progress in a safe environment. Home is where my family always supports me like a base supporting a house. When I am disappointed, my family comforts me and makes me feel loved. Love is more than a word, it’s generosity, compassion and forgiveness like three pillars supporting the roof. Home is where I learn to build my integrity by being obedient, empathetic and responsible. Sometimes I get frustrated when my parents ask me to turn off the tablet, clean my little brother's toys or do homework. I always remind myself that doing these things comes for a good cause so that I can be a better person. Home is not only about the people under the roof, it is also about the people that live in my community. I help my elderly neighbours to shovel their driveway when there is a snow storm. I feel proud and helpful as I volunteer for food banks and raise money for my school. My community is where I belong. I am blessed to have a home because it feels like love is an open door.
