What home means to me.

To me, home isn’t just a place with a roof and walls; home is a place where you can walk into a room and immediately feel loved and cherished. Not walking into a room full of people screaming at the top of their lungs directly at you. Would you want your home to be a place where people are only yelling at each other? Or would you want kind and loving people who welcome you with open arms? Some people don’t even realize how lucky they are to have a home, they just take it for granted. There are tons of people out there who don’t have a home. Sometimes they can be living on the street which isn’t very good. Home also is a place where you should hopefully also always know your next meal. To a baby I think home means two parents / guardians that love you a lot and give you milk or healthy food every time you're feeling hungry. Also to make sure he/she gets the things to fulfill their health. I think home to a parent is knowing that on Mother's/Father's Day, your kids may make you presents. Also getting said good morning every morning and good night every night. Home to a veteran is not having to worry about saving people from the war and hiding from attacks. For a veteran home will also make you feel safer, for instance, when you have nightmares about still being in the army, you will wake up to people comforting you. I assume home to an elderly person is maybe going to their grandkids' house and kids' house if they have any. If they don’t, then going out with their friends and having fun like they’re young again. Home is also a place where you can practice your dream or passion instead of just giving up on it. Home is growing up with siblings, and by that I mean always having someone to play with or have fun with. Even though sometimes in your life you're going to get into a fight with your sibling, and that’s never fun, but you make up, and you learn from that experience. Home is where you see your grandparents getting older, sharing things they’ve gone through in the past with their grandchildren. Home is where children learn to get creative, and they build their physical and mental health over the years by creating new artworks, recipes, or anything new. And that is what home means from my perspective.
