What Home Means To Me
A home is not a house, a home is a place where you create memories, share love, and spread happiness. For me, home is a place where I feel safe, comfortable, and happy. If I’m not happy in my home, someone will eventually make me happy, because I am in my home, and my home is safe, and welcoming. I really respect that Habitat For Humanity includes all these ideas, so I’m more than willing to help out, because I think everyone deserves a home.
I am very lucky to have a special, loving family. Home isn’t only the layout, or size. Home includes family. Part of the reason I call my house my home, is because of my family. My family is why I call home, home. They make my home special, with their happy souls cheering me up on even the darkest days. My pets, too. They bring me joy and create tons of memories. I remember teaching my dog how to roll over with my mom, which took us about 3 days. We were thrilled.
I remember a while ago, when I was a toddler, my dad and I would color pictures, afterwards hanging them up on my closet. Eventually, the whole exterior closet was covered with colorful, beaming pictures. I remember the sound of the printer, the paper slowly sliding out of its holder.
I’m very lucky to have my home, I think everyone deserves a home! Just not my home. Even if it isn’t my home, it can still be special, the exact same way.
I hope Habitat For Humanity can create good into people's lives, because everyone deserves it. I smiled hearing what Habitat For Humanity is capable of, and I'm glad to be a part of this journey.
