Home is not Just a Place
My home is not just a place. It is a feeling of being loved for being just how I am and being safe and helped at any time or moment. It is also me doing the same for others, because we care about each other a lot.
It is my mom telling the most random stories while cooking for us, about her, about my dad, sister, and life. Of course, my dog is by her side, trying to get some food for her to eat.
And it is always finding time to do something together on weekends, like watching a movie with snacks all together, or ordering nice food. It is talking about the week while eating, we always would find time to spend together.
Caring about each other is also a part of what makes my home a home. And it is not always in big things, it is also in small things like making everyone breakfast, finishing their part of household chores when they ask you, or helping my family when they don’t understand something.
Caring is not only in material things, but also in non-material things, like me saying goodnight to everyone in my family every day, or taking their side in the arguments, and not liking people who they don’t like.
I really appreciate my parents for giving me all the opportunities they gave me and for making me think only about good things when I think about home. I appreciate my sister for helping with anything I need to know or don’t understand. And, of course, for Habitat for Humanity for giving others the opportunity to have a home to live in and be loved in.
