Celebrate Home

Home is more than just a shelter. Picture this: the windows of your home are its eyes, the door the mouth, and the people inside its heart and the brain. Without you, a home is like a bird with no feathers, a tree with no leaves. Home is your happy place. I'm not saying stay cooped up in your home, but make memories. Everyday when I wake up, the sound of my dog panting delights me with joy and fills me up with thankfulness. When I walk down the steps, the smell of my mom's delicious French toast runs through my nostrils like a wild bull stampede. After I'm done breakfast, I proudly do my morning routine: make my lunch for school, get dressed, brush my teeth, do my hair, then I let my dog out and hop on the bus. When I get to school, I say hi to my friends and then learn, and at the end of the day I say bye to my teacher and get on the bus again. When my bus drops me off, I say hello to my mom, ask her how her day went, and take my dog for a walk. I enjoy the scenery, and I love the smell of the pine trees. When I finish my journey I eat dinner, shower, and go up stairs and read Harry Potter until 9:00 p.m. Without a home, none of that would be possible.
