The Meaning of Home
To me, home means shelter. Home is a place where you are covered. Even when it’s pouring rain outside, I know that I'm safe inside, snuggled up with a good book, or on my Ipad playing video games. When I'm coming home from a long day at school, I get a warm feeling as soon as I walk in the front door. A feeling of belonging and… My favorite dinner, ground beef and rice with soy sauce. Whenever me and my family eat dinner together, I remember that I am lucky to have a place to live, a shelter, food and water. Home also means fun. When I’m at home, I almost never get bored because we have so many things to do, like board games, video games and a lot more. I also sometimes play with my sister with her stuffed animals, even though I feel too old to play with them. But I’m more comfortable doing it when I am at home. In my home with my family, I feel like I belong. In a house, it just feels like a …place. A place where you can be, but there are no memories that you can make, or your favorite spot to do what you want. Stuff like birthdays, celebrations, movie nights, game nights - those don't happen in a house. They happen at home. When I go to bed, I get a feeling that I am safe, and I know that I’m safe at home. And that is why I love my home.
