My Home My Heart

My home my heart, The doorway between two worlds apart The stair steps creek just like before Everywhere I turn There's an open door The smell of home cooked meals Fill the room Downstairs I smell my mothers perfume The scent of lavenders and daisies makes my eyes hazy I go upstairs to my room And look out my window Outside I see the trees flow When I come back down I see not a single frown Everyone with a smile on their face That's why we love this place When I look up at my rooftop I see the the Christmas lights still up Some of them broken Some of them damaged But somehow for years we managed And here in these walls my heart rests This is why are home is the best.
