Home is My Safe Space

Home is not a building or one place. Home is a place where you can be comfortable to embrace your personality. Home is a place where you should be able to go to feel safe and free to express yourself. Home is a place where you should be with people who love and respect you. Home doesn't have to be a building with expensive fancy furniture. Home is a place where your emotions matter. Home is a place where you matter. Home is a place where you can go when you have a hard day. Home is a place where you can go to be with your loved ones. Homes don't have to be in the same place your entire life, they are where you can be with your family. Home is anywhere with your family. To me home is a place where you can go to smell freshly baked cookies. Home is a place filled with love and laughter. Home is a place where I can come to hear my parents' voices. I am grateful that every day I get to go home to a safe and secure space, a space that I can call my home. That is why I am truly grateful that Habitat for Humanity is giving people a chance to turn their lives around, and giving people a safe space to call their own. Thank you.
