The Feeling of Home

Home isn’t just a place, it's a feeling. What home means to me is somewhere or someone you feel comfortable with or at. It really isn’t a place, it’s a feeling. For example, when you're with your pet or Mama, you feel good. Another is somewhere you feel the same way. The best thing about home is my dog, his name is Charlie and he used to be very energetic. When I’m near him I feel the feeling of home. The smell of the kitchen is like a big hug of pancakes, cinnamon buns, chick pea stew, and my Papa’s cooking. The smell of him makes me feel joy. When I go to school, I get packed pasta, but when I’m home he makes pastries and cookies, cakes and muffins. It all is like a wrap of joy in the food he makes. My brother makes me laugh and he also annoys me so much I want to go to my room. My room is amazing for me, I can sleep, play, and dream. When I dream, I feel joy, even though sometimes I have nightmares, I know everything is fine because I’m in my house. I get alone time when I’m in my room. I like alone time when I feel sad and my room is the place to go to. When my friends call me, I go to my room and I feel more comfortable when I lie on my bed. My room is an area that I feel safe in. The feeling of home is just the feeling of love and comfort. When I’m home I feel comfortable and very happy. Home is a very special place and feeling to have. That is what home means to me.
