What is Home?
Home is happiness.
My home is busy, like a beehive. Home is at the sports field or running around my neighbourhood with friends. Home is family. Home is not just about all the walls around you, it’s about the people you’re with and the feelings you feel. The feelings of love, happiness, and joy surround me at home.
Home is the place you grow up in, and the memories that stick with you all throughout your past, even if you move away. I remember the far away memories of a little blue park, sliding down the slide and running around the field. I can still picture the frosty side walk my family and I walked down during winter. This brings back warm feelings of my old home. These early memories made a big difference in my life because it taught me what home feels like.
As I get older life changes, but the feelings of home stay the same. Life becomes different, friends come and go, and life gets busier, but home remains constant. It’s still the place I'm safe, where I can be myself with no judgment. I'll always know that home is the place I belong.
My home is animals. I remember my grandparents' dogs and laying down on Sam's big white furry chest. Listening to his heartbeat for hours and hours. Then Sam passed away but I didn't really understand why. When I got older Jack also got older too, carrying him up and down the stairs, day and night. Then all of a sudden, he was gone. I felt as if I was never going to be happy again. Jack and Sam are a part of my life, and even if they're gone, I will always remember them.
Home is not just about all the walls around you, it’s about the feelings, memories, and time spent with my family.
