What Does Home Mean to Me?

Home to me means a safe space, a comforting place, a happy place. Home to me is a place to laugh and grow. In my home I play with my sister and dog. I love my home and the family that lives there. Everytime I walk in, I smell the soothing smell of coconut. My home feels safe, calming, and meaningful. Home is not a structure, but a state of mind. Home is sentimental. A house is a structure with no connection to you. Home is where I belong. Home is a sappy place. When I was around five years old, I moved across town to a different house. I didn’t know what a home was. I thought a home was the same as a house. Now I know home is sentimental and a house is a structure. Home to me is a place to be loved. I am very lucky to have a roof over my head, food in my stomach, and clothes on my back. I am glad to be presented with this opportunity to give back to the community. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for helping those in need.
