Meaning of Home- Why is Habitat for Humanity Important?

Habitat for Humanity is important in our community because it gives indigenous youth building skills through valuable hands-on experiences for their life. Habitat for Humanity helps First Nation communities build on to the town and better by building affordable houses. It also gets people out of reserves so they can be more active and have more adventures. Habitat for Humanity makes affordable housing and it gives a new start for families in need. Habitat for Humanity is a globally run non-profit organization that is run by donations, and sponsors such as Meridian, Bruce Power, and RBC. Habitat for Humanity made 3.1 billion dollars across the world which helps struggling families get back on their feet. They also made 500,000 houses around the world including 91 houses in Grey and Bruce counties. I think that Habitat for Humanity helps our community because it gives college students that want to become builders an opportunity to develop their skills and gain valuable life experiences, they have opportunities to learn about general construction, reading of drafts and building plans, and valuable experience building leadership and teamwork skills for their futures. Habitat for Humanity also gives new job opportunities in our community. This is why I think that Habitat for Humanity is a benefit to our community.
