More Than Just a House

My home is more than just a house; it is a grand palace filled with our memories and traditions. Each room has a unique personality, and if the walls could talk they would tell you of an encouraging and caring atmosphere. After a long day, home to me is cozying up on my couch nestled in a warm blanket with a good book. At dinner time, we share jokes with each other, our laughter mingling and mixing with the delicious aroma of our meals. The living room is where we all talk, watch movies, and create special moments. In the summers, my brother and I play for hours on end in the backyard, eating freshly grown berries to our heart’s content, and during winters, I sit by the window watching the snow fall slowly , like a white spell cast over all the houses, while sipping my chocolate milk. The pictures balanced carefully on the walls are our dearest memories, the ones we hold closest to our hearts, tucked in carefully amongst the frames, like a bright shining star to look at when you feel down. Home is my superhero, the kind that keeps me safe from scary things out in the wide world. Home is my happy place. It is a safe space where I can dream my biggest dreams! It is a place that I know and that I feel deep inside of me. To me, a home is more than just a roof over your head and a place to sleep, it's where we learn how to live our life, surrounded by the people we love. So in the end , there is a difference between what makes a home and what makes a house, because , no matter where it is, a home is where the heart always lives.
