What does home mean to me?

Home to me is not just a structure. It is a place where I feel safe, comfortable and have fun. My family lives with me in my home and they keep me safe. I also feel safe because I have a lock on my door. I have a roof over my head so I can be protected from cold weather, rain and snowstorms. Not only does my roof protect me from harsh weather, it also keeps away pesky bugs and wild animals like owls, squirrels, birds, raccoons, and smelly skunks. My home is warm and cozy in the winter. My mom always keeps the furnace running so I can stay warm. I can also crawl up on my comfy couch with a thick blanket to stay snug. I can also stay warm by sitting by my fire with a tasty hot chocolate. In the summer, I can turn on the AC when it is really hot outside. When I come home from playing sports outside, it feels so cool and comfortable. My home is always fun because I have a lot of toys and board games. I can also watch tv, play video games or I can play in my backyard. It is also a place where I can share my thoughts and celebrate traditions like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Lunar New Year, and Valentine's Day. I can read and enjoy my books. I feel free to do whatever makes me happy in my home! I am very lucky because I have a loving and caring family and a warm and cozy house. My home is like family to me because I'm always there and it is where I feel the safest.
