What HOME means to me...
Home is a structure to most people, but to me, it is an environment where you can be loved and cared for. It's the safe place where I can go after a bad day. I think of home like a treasure chest. Inside, there are treasures that money cannot buy like love, laughter and being a part of something important, your family.
Home is where my family is. A place where I belong, my safe place, my happy place. Home is a place you grow up wanting to leave, and grow old wanting to get back to home. It’s a place where our feet may leave, but not our hearts. The pictures on the wall remind you of each of your memories. They are like an art gallery of your life. Home is where you can store your memories. Home is like your protector, a place that shields you from the cold and the place that protects you from all bad feelings life throws at you.
My home is a place where I can play video games and hockey (mini sticks) with my brother, play music and have fun. Home is where your childhood started. From when you started school to when you graduate, there will always be a home for you to come back to. There are good memories and bad ones. From my first steps to my tenth birthday, home has been there to give me shelter, love and comfort. A home is not just a house, a house is in one spot, but a home can be wherever you want it to be. It can be here or in another country.
To me a home is where my family is. A home is an encouraging place, telling me to be who I am and cheering me on to keep going. I think of it as a place that gives me the courage that I need in life, because courage is something you always need. My home is one of the biggest parts of my life so that is why I try to appreciate it the best I can. Sometimes I can be ungrateful and don't realize how lucky I am to have an actual home. I will try to be more grateful. Home is like a book, it gives you memories to remember. The pictures, the furniture, the rooms and more; they are all things that make your home, what you want it to be
When I think of people without a home, it makes me feel so bad for them and is one of the reasons I am writing this. I want to help in any small way and get a 10 dollar donation which goes towards people in need. I try to help people in need in every way I can. For example, instead of asking for presents at my birthday party, I raised money for The Redwood Women's Shelter. have also donated to many other charities.
I want to say thank you to Habitat for Humanity because what you are doing to help people in need is really amazing and many other organisations for what they are doing. One last thing, home is all of the great things.
