What Home Means to Me

When I think of home I think of going sledding in the winter with my family because we have a really big sledding hill. It brings my family a lot of joy going down the hill together and building the most perfect silly snowmen. My dad brings me happiness when we are doing snowball fights and making color dye to dye the snow different colors. Then when I step into the house covered in snow, it brings me a warm cozy feeling. After that mom makes hot chocolate to warm us up and I make sure she puts extra milk in mine. I always burn my tongue with no milk. Also, who drinks hot chocolate with no movie? We always watch movies together. While we are watching the movie I think of how grateful I am to have a home and a caring family. Every single person in my family has a little space in my heart. Next I think about how home is not just a building. It’'s a safe place that holds all my family's memories since we were little and turns them into a huge museum with pictures full of me and my brother and sister. Next my dad will go out and check if our backyard rink is frozen and he will come in and take us out skating. Then i get a feeling deep down in my heart giving me a free space to feel safe. After that we would go in and put up the air mattress and me and my sister would sleep on that and my brother would make his own space on his little air mattress. Also, my mom would sleep on one couch and my dad would sleep on the other . That's how I know that I'm safe, and cared for.
