Any House Can Be A Home

To me home is a safe place to call yours. whether your home is up north in Manitoba or in the east in alberta. I like to think my home is surrounded with love pulling me in for a hug. Although I don't like thinking or talking about it, my family has wanted to move for a while, for understandable reasons. Like most people I don't want to leave my home because it may have once been a house but it has become my home. A safe place of belonging and safety. My living room is nothing like in a movie. It's small and has a big shaggy carpet as well as a big cozy chair that matches our old black couch that constantly has an absurd amount of cheerios inside it. In the corner is the door to the backyard My backyard is smaller than most with a little garden in the corner that my dad has made. If you look close enough you can see the little plastic animals my dad hides in the garden which makes for a fun game of eye spy. Back inside is my kitchen. My kitchen is long and narrow with upper and lower cabinets on either side. My kitchen is filled with delicious aromas as my parents make dinner. The amazing thing about a home is it has the ability to make you feel like you belong, like you are safe and loved. Some homes are childhood homes, the home you have searched every corner for that last lego piece you can't find, or maybe it's a new house that feels empty yet overflowing with possibilities.I find comfort in the thought that if I moved my new house would be soon full with laughter of joy.
