What Home Means to Me
Home is like a warm place made of bricks to make you feel loved and safe and happy. Sometimes there’s sadness, other times there is yelling and arguments. That’s normal, adults fight all the time, but they always come back together. Whenever we have time together, like whenever my dad and mom are free, they always take us out after we do what we need to do. Home is a palace. It is where we are supposed to feel loved and cared for.
Home also means being safe and happy and to not feel unsafe. Home means to be in a place where you belong. Home is supposed to make you actually feel like you belong in a place where there’s food, beds, blankets and other good things to make you feel happy. Even though sometimes you feel like you don’t matter. Some places don’t really have happy feelings. In some houses, people’s parents are divorced and it’s not really happy.
In my home I smell KFC and pizza. Other times I smell wood and bricks. I also smell cement that they used to make the home. I hear leaf blowers and lawnmowers. Other times I hear wind howling and blowing inside my home. Sometimes there’s cars driving that I hear inside my home. Again there’s also that sweet smell of pizza.
This is what home means to me.
