What Home Means to Me!
Home for me is more of a feeling than a place. Don’t get me wrong, I love living in Newfoundland. It never gets old hearing the wind whipping around me while I hike a coastal trail with my family, and the sound of waves crashing into our rock (Newfoundland!) or hiking a coastal trail with my family and seeing a moose or a bunny and picking berries from bushes that pepper the sides of the trail.
It never gets old to be on the top of Signal Hill on a summer night and seeing the stars and lights from the building below, painting the sky like Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night. The taste of the food my loved ones make will forever taste good.
When I think of home, I think of Newfoundland, but I also think of being "at home", which is more of a feeling than a place. For me, feeling "at home" means being happy and comfortable and most importantly safe, with the people I'm around, such as teachers, family, loved ones and the people I call friends.
Home means being loving and being loved, it means being in a safe space, a place that I can be myself and not be judged or made fun of.
Home is being surrounded by the people who love and value me, there are about eight billion people on this Earth. I won't waste my time on people who don’t care, and you shouldn’t either. Surround yourself with people who love and care about you, who you like!
I don’t know about you, but that is what home means to me! Thank you for reading this. I hope you enjoyed it!
