What Home Means to Me

Home. A word that is way beyond just a house. It has different meanings. But I did not think that way when I was in China... When I was back in China, I thought a home is just a place where we live in. A place where we hang out, rest, chill, play, eat, and relax. Ever since I learned the ways of Canadians, I realized it was way more than that. Home is a place where your heart rests, where your imagination runs wild, where you feel safe, and where you belong. Home could be anywhere. (Literally) Home doesn’t have to be in your house or apartment. As long as you are safe and sound, you can make anywhere your home! If you feel like you belong in school, that can be your home! (You don’t have to live there though) Now, I finally understand the meaning of my home. It’s a place about peace, warmth, respect, belonging, togetherness, happiness, family, and it’s a place about you. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity so much for building and giving so much to the people who need it. We owe you, big time. For H.F.H., my family, my friends, and everyone out there. Have a wonderful day.
