Home Isn't Just a Building
Home is way more than a building. Home is more of a feeling; like the emotion of being wanted and feeling safe. Home is a blanket, a snug blanket that makes me feel warm and cozy inside. My home is not just a building. My home is a memory, in the making, that bonds us together.
In my room, there are paintings and photos—but not just anyone’s; they act as snapshots and memories from the past. There are also pictures that make me feel proud of the adventures that my family and I have had.
In my kitchen, I feel relieved because when dinner rolls around and my mother comes home from work, we all start to feel connected to one another. We share stories and reminiscences of our day that make us smile and laugh.
Home is the feeling and mental connection of being joyous and happy about coming home and knowing that whatever happened, your family is always there for you.
So like I said in the title, home isn’t just a building, it’s the core area of my family, and the place where every day is saved permanently inside my heart.
Thank you, Habitat for Humanity for helping thousands of families since 1985. They truly do build homes, communities and hope.
